制度、国家能力与经济繁荣——评《国家为什么会失败》,兼论福山《国家构建》、本瑟利与皮尔森《繁荣的支柱》

摘要(Abstract)：
为什么有的国家贫困而有的国家经济持续繁荣?阿西莫格鲁和罗宾逊的回答是:包容性制度。本文对《国家为什么会失败》一书的中心主题"包容性经济和政治制度与经济持续繁荣的关系"进行了概括性阐述后,结合福山的《国家构建》、本瑟利与皮尔森的《繁荣的支柱》进一步讨论了制度、国家能力和经济繁荣的关系。《国家为什么会失败》一书很大程度是作者在理论上对既有实证研究的总结,在方法上是新比较政治经济史研究的卓有成效的实践,但该书并没有提供包容性制度如何产生和如何作用的更充分的解释。
